Relax, unwind and enjoy all that nature has to offer at Pippy’s Retreat, located in the beautiful coastal village of Lake Conjola on the NSW South Coast. Surrounded by Conjola National Park and Narawallee Creek Nature Reserve, Pippy’s Retreat is the ideal location to relax, unwind, enjoy the amazing wildlife, the beautiful bushland, the beach and lake, and all the area has to offer.

Originally this bright, airy, but cosy one bedroom cottage was purpose built to meet the needs of an elderly family member with mobility issues. The layout and inclusions of Pippy’s Retreat are ideal for those who may have assistive needs when looking for holiday accommodation.

Situated on a one acre bush block, the cottage has privacy from the main house, off street undercover parking with easy, level access to the cottage and a fully fenced garden. The property plays host to a wide range of native birds and animals, which will keep you entertained for hours. The close proximity to the beach allows you to be lulled to sleep at night by the rolling waves.

As a purpose-built cottage, Pippy’s Retreat hosts a number of assistive inclusions. Large glass sliding doors allow entry either into the living area or the bedroom from the the front porch. Entry into both the bedroom and bathroom is through wide sliding doors. There are no steps or uneven surfaces within cottage,  ensuring a smooth transition from room to room.

The living area boasts two electric recline/ stand assist chairs, a large TV and a DVD player, dining suite with access to either a height adjustable utility chair or a Revolution chair. The full size kitchen is very well equipped and also includes under bench drawers, a single drawer under bench dishwasher, microwave oven, induction cooktop, built-in oven and a pod coffee machine. A variety of daily living kitchen aids along with a selection of large handled cutlery are also available. Guests will receive a breakfast hamper on check-in comprising of a loaf of homemade bread, butter, juice, milk, homemade Granola, homemade marmalade or jam and freshly laid eggs. Basic pantry staples are also supplied.

The large open plan, step-free bathroom has non-slip floor tiles throughout, grab rails around the toilet and shower areas, a hand held shower hose and apull around shower curtain. Both a shower chair and shower stool are available.

The bedroom has one queen size static bed, bedside tables on both sides, each having a touch light. A large built-in wardrobe with sliding doors has plenty of hanging room and storage space. Also available for guest use is a height adjustable bedside commode and range of bed and chair protection.

Pippy's Retreat is also equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom, remote controlled blinds on all the windows and easy to slide panel blinds on the glass doors, as well as an indoor laundry cupboard with a topload washing machine and laundry tub(no dryer). Fresh linen and towels are supplied. Available on request is a four wheel side fold walker, self-propelled wheelchair and mid-sized mobility scooter - ideal for exploring the village.

Being able to holiday with your dog is important to many. Pippy's Retreat is dog friendly and welcomes all well behaved dogs.  Dogs are permitted inside and furniture must be covered if there is likelihood that your dog will lay on the bed or recliners. Please bring your own covers. The cottage has its own garden that is fully fenced to ensure your dog is safe and secure.  Dogs must be on a lead when they are outside the fenced area.  A dog bed, a water and a food bowl, pooper scoop and poop bags are provided.  Due to the immediate proximity to the bushland, it is highly recommended that your dog be on a tick prevention regime before visiting.

Activities in and around Pippy's Retreat  Lake Conjola  Accessible Accommodation

The focus of Pippy’s Retreat is about relaxing, unwinding and enjoying the local wildlife.  Apart from the cottage garden there are a few areas around the property guests are welcome to sit and enjoy the surrounds.  Sit by the fish pond - an easy 15m level walk from the cottage, and watch the birds play, or  follow the path to the sunken garden where you may see a kangaroo or two relaxing on the grass. For indoor activities,  there are a good selection of DVDs, books, and board games.

There are  spots along the lake's edge where you can fish, have a picnic, watch the water birds or just sit and watch the world go by. Direct access to the lake is 350m from the cottage, or drive through the Holiday Haven Caravan Park to the Reserve with BBQ and picnic facilities. Access to Conjola Beach is via a fully accessible board walk, approximately 1km from the cottage.  Stop at the viewing platforms along the way for a better view of the lake, Green Island or the beach - you may even see the dolphins frolicing in the waves. Overhead, look out for the sea eagles soaring on the sea breeze.

Looking for somewhere close by to eat or just to sit and enjoy a coffee? The Lake Conjola General Store and Post Office serves fish and chips, burgers, snacks and coffee.  The are three steps into the store, and all seating is outside, right on the edge of the lake - the store is open 7 days. For indoor eating, visit Mar and Dars Cafe, also in Lake Conjola. This fully accessible cafe is open 7 days for breakfast and lunch. Or why not try the White Rose Brasserie in the Lake Conjola Bowling Club, open for lunch Wednesday to Saturday and for dinner Wednesday to Sunday.
